Brightpoint Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education and is the third largest of Virginia's 23 community colleges. Brightpoint Community College is seeking a Customer Service Representative for the Financial Service Help Hub Center. To create a compelling image of Brightpoint Community College, the Remote Customer Service Representative will serve as the first point of contact for students request for financial information. Customer Service Representative will respond in a professional, courteous, and service-oriented manner. The College serves over 6400 FTE's representing 14,500 headcount for credit and non-credit students. Advisors must possess a working knowledge of business and management principles involved in financial aid, student financials, strategic planning, resources allocation, and coordination of people and resources. Must have the ability to work as scheduled in a fast-paced environment to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues reported to the Financial Services Help Hub. Must possess excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. In addition, the Advisors must enjoy interaction with students and parents as the position is engaged in direct communications. This position reports to the Coordinator of the Financial Service Help Hub. This is a hybrid position.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Must be able to work independently on a variety of assignments. Experience with Microsoft Office required. Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to include both oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient in grammar skills with the ability to draft, compose, and proofread correspondences and emails. Must possess excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills and work well under pressure. Must possess the ability to provide service to a diverse population of customers. Must possess ability to maintain confidentiality while working with highly sensitive information. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check will be required.
* All full-time classified employees new to the Commonwealth of Virginia will serve a 12-month probationary period.
Additional Considerations
Experience working in a Financial Aid office, experience using PeopleSoft and Publisher.
Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel
