SALARY: $15.65 - 19.56 Hourly USDJOB SUMMARY:Under general directionprovides customer service by greeting customers, answering multi-linetelephone, taking messages and responding to customer inquiries.This position is forCustomer Service Assistant with a valid Texas Class C Driver's License who mayneed to serve as backup to pick up for after-school care and other driving asneeded. Abilityto provide customer service by accessing patron information, receiving money,and assisting with customer inquiries regarding programming or facility usage.2. Ability to perform facilitymaintenance and setup and respond to issues in the facility such as cleanlinessor other issues.3. Ability to negotiate patronaccount information, apply policies and procedures, perform standard data entrytasks, and coordination and scheduling of programs.4. Ability to respond to multipledemands for information from the public and adjust to change with respect to thesubject matter or informational need expressed in the user's inquiry.OTHERJOB FUNCTIONS:5. Abilityto work with various organizations, individuals and other departments toaccommodate needs for facility access, program information or facility orientationas well as knowledge of the collection for purposes of maintaining andassisting with the maintenance of the facility.6. Abilityto work with various vendors, outside agencies and other department toaccommodate needs for facility access, program information, or facilityorientation.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of modern officemethods, practices and equipment.
- Knowledge of facility management to ensure a safe and productive experience forusers and customers.
- Knowledge of print sources, online catalogs, databases, and remote informationaccess sources.
- Knowledge of how materials and information sources areorganized. Ability to apply appropriate interpersonal skills with the public and citystaff to maintain positive relations to ensure a working environment that leadsto a team approach.
- Ability to learn and apply computer skills to register customers, maintain siterecords and accounts while using discretion with customer information.
- Ability to demonstrate effective organization skills for recordkeeping, filingand coordination of a heavily used public facility or facilities.
- Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including, but not limited toseeing, sorting, typing, pulling, pushing, and lifting.
- Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including, but not limited toa personal computer terminal, fax machine, multi-line telephone, scanners andcalculator.
- Ability to drive a motorized vehicle.
- Skill in making simple arithmetic calculations
- Skill in cash register use and handling money and balance accounts
- Skill in analyzing information needs with careful attention to detail
- Ability to work with various organizations, individuals, and other departmentsto schedule through theonline system room reservations and rentals.
Qualifying Education andExperience:Some college plusone-year related customer service experience or equivalent combo. Bilingual andone year of college, preferred. Possession of a valid Texas Operator's License,Class C.Successful completion of the City of Arlington's CPR and First Aid training required upon hire.Background Requirements:Pre-placement screeningincludes a criminal background check, drug/alcohol testing, physical and Human Performance Evaluation (HPE), and motorvehicle review (MVR).
