SALARY: $15.65 - 19.56 Hourly USDJOB SUMMARY:Under general directionprovides customer service by greeting customers, answering multi-linetelephone, taking messages and responding to customer inquiries.This position is forCustomer Service Assistant without a valid Texas Class C Driver'sLicense. If you do have a license, and would like to be considered, pleaseapply for the Customer Service Assistant - Driving Eligible position.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Abilityto provide customer service by accessing patron information, receiving money,and assisting with customer inquiries regarding programming or facility usage.2. Ability to perform facilitymaintenance and setup and respond to issues in the facility such as cleanlinessor other issues.3. Ability to negotiate patronaccount information, apply policies and procedures, perform standard data entrytasks, and coordination and scheduling of programs.4. Ability to respond to multipledemands for information from the public and adjust to change with respect to thesubject matter or informational need expressed in the user's inquiry.OTHERJOB FUNCTIONS:5. Abilityto work with various organizations, individuals and other departments toaccommodate needs for facility access, program information or facility orientationas well as knowledge of the collection for purposes of maintaining andassisting with the maintenance of the facility.6. Abilityto work with various vendors, outside agencies and other department toaccommodate needs for facility access, program information, or facilityorientation.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Knowledge of modern office methods,practices and equipment.
  • Knowledgeof facility management to ensure a safe and productive experience for users andcustomers.
  • Knowledge of print sources, onlinecatalogs, databases, and remote information access sources.
  • Knowledge of how materials andinformation sources are organized.
  • Ability to apply appropriate interpersonal skills with the publicand city staff to maintain positive relations to ensure a working environmentthat leads to a team approach.
  • Ability to learn and apply computer skills to register customers,maintain site records and accounts while using discretion with customerinformation.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective organization skills forrecordkeeping, filing and coordination of a heavily used public facility orfacilities.
  • Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including, but notlimited to seeing, sorting, typing, pulling, pushing, and lifting.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including, butnot limited to a personal computer terminal, fax machine, multi-line telephone,scanners and calculator.
  • Ability to drive a motorized vehicle.
  • Skill in making simple arithmeticcalculations
  • Skill in cash register use andhandling money and balance accounts
  • Skill in analyzing information needswith careful attention to detail
  • Abilityto work with various organizations, individuals, and other departments toschedule through the onlinesystem room reservations and rentals.
Qualifying Education andExperience:Some college plusone-year related customer service experience or equivalent combo. Bilingual andone year of college, preferred.Successful completion of the City of Arlington's CPR and First Aid training required upon hire.Background Requirements:Pre-placement screeningincludes a criminal background check, physical and Human Performance Evaluation (HPE)
