Purpose of this Job:
Provide guidance and supervision for front-end staff at Hometown Market in the absence of the Front-End Manager. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings about business transactions recorded by other workers. Prepare bank deposits and change orders as dictated by business needs.

Computer, database software, accounting software, calculator, email, scheduling software, multi-line phone system, fax/copy machine, overhead pager system.
Educational Requirements:
Minimum of a high school education or General Equivalency Diploma is required.
RAMP certification required or within six months of employment, if required for store.
Reasoning Ability:
Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages.
Ability to identify discrepancies or potential problems and provide solutions.
Analytical skills, as well as financial aptitude.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, labels, and pricing structures
Ability to write with clarity and create legible, readable, and concise documentation, correspondence, and orders.
Ability to talk to others (internal customers/coworkers and external customers) to convey information effectively and professionally.
Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and maintain vendor relationships.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Concentration, attentiveness, independent judgment and discretion, managing multiple tasks, reading and comprehend instructions and work orders. Must be able to see, hear, bend, stoop and reach, and stand for long periods of time, use hands, and lift up to 25 pounds manually.
Work Environment:
Interacting with computers, extended viewing of computer screens, using the telephone and accounting software.
Standing for entire shift, minus breaks and meal periods. Will be exposed to changes in weather when working near the front of the store. Has the potential to be exposed to various degrees in temperature while working with employees in various areas of the market, including dock, stockroom, coolers, freezers, front area of the store, deli, and meat rooms.
