Job DescriptionCustomer Service Rep/Classified SalesHearst Midwest Media Group seeks an energetic and friendly Customer Service Representative to sell and market all aspects of classified advertising across several publications. You will interact with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about products and services, providing excellent customer service.Responsibilities and Duties
- Interact with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about products and services.
- Handle and resolve customer complaints
- Maintain assigned account bases while developing new accounts.
- Provide customers with Classified advertising recommendations, estimates of the costs, receipts and collect payment.
- Process all correspondence and paperwork related to accounts.
- Prepare promotional plans, sales literature, media kits, and sales contracts, using a computer.
- Consult with management, sales departments, and co-workers to develop promotional plans.
- Locate and contact potential clients to offer Classified advertising services. Identify new advertising markets and propose products to serve them.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalentSales and Customer Service experience
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures.
- Excellent computer and web skills are required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to access and prioritize tasks and projects, meet strict deadlines, and multi-task.
- Ability to manage own time with minimal supervision.
