Job Overview:The Customer Service Representative I supports GSS customers from initial inquiry to delivered order, in a friendly, timely and professional manner. Processing and managing quotes and electronic orders, they partner with their team and suppliers, proactively identifying product and delivery solutions to best meet customer needs. The successful candidate will have the desire to provide an exceptional customer experience, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced team environment. Responsibilities:
- Deliver frontline customer level support to general customer accounts and inquiries, offering one call resolution where possible.
- Process requests for quotations (RFQs).
- Process and manage standard and electronic orders.
- Support direct sales team and inquiries via phone or email.
- Identify material cross-reference opportunities to meet delivery requirements and to satisfy GSS margin guidelines.
- Determine new product requirements and potential needs for a new source of supply or special price quotations based on customer requests.
- Cross- collaborate with other team members and departments to best meet the needs of the customers.
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm pricing and product availability.
- Supply documentation such as quote, order confirmation, shipment confirmation, and invoices to customers as requested.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one to three years' experience in customer service.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities under time-critical constraints.
- Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
- Proficiency with office software, i.e., Outlook, Word, especially Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or science related field.
- Proficiency with computers and their applications.
- ERP experience is a plus.
