Salary : $35,360.00 Annually Location : Macon, GA Job Type: Full Time Job Number: 202400138 Department: Middle GA Regional Airport Opening Date: 09/20/2024 Summary The Customer Service Representative, under direct supervision, receives and ensures the proper resolution of customer complaints, service requests, and requests for information about Macon-Bibb County services and programs. This employee exercises sound judgment and exhibits courtesy and tact at all times when dealing with the public. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receives customer service related inquiries and information requests from the public. Thereafter distributes formal requests to the appropriate county departments for a speedy resolution.
  • Develops positive working relationships with Macon-Bibb County departments in order to facilitate complaint resolution in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Attends community meetings (i.e. town hall and Mayor's Night) documenting complaints, compliments, recommendations, or suggestions. Thereafter generate work orders to resolve any issues or concerns voiced.
  • Collaborates with community organizations to provide pertinent information to Macon-Bibb County residents to quickly address issues and concerns.
Education, Training and Experience The Customer Service Representative should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Public or Business Administration, Journalism, Communications, or a related field, and at least one (1) year experience working with local governments, public agencies, media outlets and/or customer service; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the various services/programs offered by Macon-Bibb County and those services offered by each county department.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles/practices/methods of disseminating information.
  • Knowledge of various services and programs offered by Macon-Bibb County and each department.
  • Ability to address customer service inquiries to residents of varying socio-economic backgrounds in a manner that is courteous, tactful, expedient, and effective.
  • Knowledge of personal computers/word processing/database programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, Windows NT network, and the internet/e-mail services.
  • Ability to compile and disseminate technical, sensitive, and/or routine information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Ability to assimilate information from a variety of sources, analyze the information, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and members of the general public.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Possession of a valid Georgia Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
