OverviewThe Customer Service Representative I position is responsible for providing a high level of customer service for MFA Oil customers. In addition, this position is responsible for the daily duties of the operation including recording sales, taking payments, performing and entering inventory and completing bank deposits.MFA Oil Company is an Equal Opportunity/Drug-Free Employer.ResponsibilitiesIn an accurate and timely manner, complete daily sales and deposit reportingMake sure daily sales and receipts are listed accurately on monthly stock sheetsEnsure that customer payments are completed accurately and applied to the correct accountEnsure that petty cash reimbursements are completed accurately, and that proper supporting documentation is attachedAssist manager in securing all tax exemption forms (FE7, MO1, etc.)Make sure they are complete and maintain a file on all formsAnswer phones, greet customers, and satisfy routine requests courteouslyBe sure that all out of gas calls are notified of MFA Oil's Out of Gas proceduresProcess daily correspondence from customers and home office in a timely mannerMake sure that proper new customer documentation is completed, including required safety documentation and forms, credit application, loaned equipment agreements, propane tank leasesMaintain up-to-date filing systemsAssist with sales and collection of accounts receivable as directed by managerObtain propane certification and fill propane tanks as required by locationMaintain good working relationship with all employeesMaintain a clean and organized work areaKnow and adhere to company policies and proceduresFollow posted work schedule and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours workedMaintain timely and professional communication with management, employees, vendors and customersKeep supervisor informed of any problems and/or any issues that need attentionPerform other duties as assignedJob RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentLegal authorization to work in the United StatesAt least 18 years of ageSome travel required for trainingAbility to exchange accurate information verbally and in written form with the customers of MFA Oil in EnglishAbility to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening and criminal background checkBasic understanding of accounting principlesAbility to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery including Microsoft Office productsCapability to learn new concepts and use technical materialsAbility to perform mathematical calculations in order to make change, complete reports, and account for productsAbility to visually observe and inspect items and work environment for regular job responsibilities and safety concernsPhysical ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or sitting) for up to nine hours per shiftPhysical ability to move and position self to move and retrieve products and supplies from shelves under counters or stacks of inventory weighing up to 50 poundsWillingness to work with hazardous materialsPreferred Skills1-3 years of customer service or other applicable work experienceAbility to meet deadlines with a high degree of time managementAbility to perform detail work with accuracyAbility to grasp new concepts quicklyAbility to work both independently and in a team environmentAbility to work at a fast paceAbility to set priorities and goals and develop plans for achieving themABOUT MFA OIL COMPANYMFA Oil Company, formed in 1929, is a farmer-owned cooperative and a leading propane retailer in the United States.
