About the Position:
This position is a part of our Transportation Services Department within the Facilities Planning and Management Division at UW-Madison. This position works at the front desk assisting customers and will rotate between 3 offices. This position will serve as a point of contact both in the department and outside of it, communicating via telephone and email, and will work with a diverse group of customers. This temporary employment position is scheduled Monday through Friday with a variable schedule from 7:00 am to 4:45pm, between three office locations on campus.
About our Transportation Services department:
UW Transportation Services is a department within Facilities Planning and Management (FP&M) on the UW-Madison campus. We serve a variety of customers with a diverse set of parking and transportation needs. Transportation Services is responsible for the coordination and administration of all transportation-related services for the UW campus community. Primary functions include the sale/management of parking permits, special event coordination, maintenance and enforcement, construction coordination, lot and booth operations, citation payments and appeals, information technology, financial, transportation planning, and development of multimodal options.
About the Division of Facilities Planning& Management (FP&M):
The Division of Facilities Planning& Management (FP&M) is a full-spectrum service organization that builds, maintains, and operates the physical environment of UW-Madison in the university's education, research, and outreach activities. We are responsible for everything from the building projects that change the face of campus to the flowers that beautify the grounds.
Responsibilities:
Serves as a point of contact for current and potential customers to address and resolve issues, provides information, and processes transactions in accordance with institutional policy. May coordinate work and train staff and student employees.
* 20% Provides exceptional service, answers questions, or provides information in a specific subject area to (internal, external) (customers, donors, stakeholders) based on set material or standards
* 15% Troubleshoots and resolves issues in a timely and professional manner
* 25% Processes customer transactions and may take payments following established policies and procedures
* 10% Organizes, distributes, and maintains relevant work unit procedures, polices, and updates to ensure accuracy and relevancy of delivered information
* 10% Monitors and maintains work areas and supplies to meet customer and operational needs
* 10% Guides and trains staff and student workers
* 10% Provide administrative support to all Transportation Service departments as needed to support unit goals.

Qualifications:
Required:
* 2 Years experience utilizing cash registers/cash handling
* Experience with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc).
* 1 Year experience in customer service
Work Schedule:
The expected schedule for this position will fall into Monday through Friday between 7:00AM and 4:45PM.
Work Type:
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Appointment Type, Duration:
Terminal appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended based on need and/or funding.
Salary:
Minimum $20.00 HOURLY
Depending on Qualifications
The minimum hourly rate for this position is $20.00, but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
