POSITION DETAILS Department: Patient Financial Services Location: US:PA:Lewisburg (remote capable following orientation period) Typical Work Schedule: Days (7:30am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday, rotating shifts) Primary Shift: Shift 1 Work Type: 1.0 FTE (full-time, 80 hours biweekly) Exempt: No SUMMARY The Customer Services Representative works under the supervision of the Customer Service Team Leader and Manager, Customer Service and will have direct contact with our patient population. Utilizing both inbound and outbound calling strategies, this position will provide excellent customer service primarily by telephone to all Evangelical Community Hospital (ECH) and Evangelical Medical Services Organization (EMSO) customers. They will assist customers with coverage/claims related questions and accurately interpret benefits and policy provisions for all insurance products accepted at ECH/EMSO facilities to account resolution. Conduct appropriate research and follow-up for with all areas of the ECH/EMSO organizations, as needed to provide prompt resolution of disputed claims to patient's satisfaction. QUALIFICATIONS 1. High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2. Requires two years of experience in Revenue Cycle Billing and or Collections, health care experience is preferred; knowledge of medical terminology acquired either by completion of a course in medical terminology or through experience with medical terminology gained by working in a health care environment is preferred. Coding or patient access experience will not be substituted for the billing/collections experience. 3. Experience in interpreting Payer Contracts and determining accurate payments on patient accounts is preferred. 4. MS Excel doing data entry, reviewing reports, sort / filter and open / edit / saving documents is preferred. 5. Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance and an FBI criminal history check required.
