Customer Service/Sales associates at Home Depot provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. They learn about products using tools provided and offer information to customers to facilitate the sale of entire projects. Associates in this position are responsible for greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing every customer in their department. They are also expected to handle basics in adjacent departments. Customer Service/Sales associates are tasked with maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe. It is their duty to provide a safe working and shopping environment by adhering to safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, immediately correcting hazards and unsafe conditions, or reporting them to the Manager on Duty. They must work safely to avoid endangering themselves, co-workers, vendors, or customers. These associates collaborate with their Department Supervisor, other associates within their department, and across other departments. Specific store departments may include Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental. The Customer Service/Sales position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.
