The Customer Service Representative is responsible for creating a positive customer experience by providing clients with accurate Straz Center information, including performances, events, donor/development, parking, Patel Conservatory programs/events, and restaurants (onsite and in the vicinity of The Straz). The Customer Service Representative is also responsible for assisting with the purchase and/or pick up of tickets to Straz Center programs/events.

Located in downtown Tampa, the Straz offers flexible hours, event-based schedules including evenings and weekends, and a team-based work environment. The Straz benefits for part-time staff include employee discounts and a 403(b) plan.

Essential Functions:

* Ensures all clients receive superior customer service by providing timely and accurate information regarding events through face-to-face communication, telephone, online chat, and email.

* Uses a prescribed script and client list to make outbound sales and informational calls as directed.

* Accurately accounts for his/her monies, including cash.

* Distributes Will Call tickets at the ticket window.

* Processes daily ticket sales.

* Creates reservations for Maestro's restaurant and Maestro's Caf.

* Inserts mailers and ticket orders for mailing.

* Assists in providing coverage for the Receptionist, answering questions, and directing telephone calls appropriately.

* Assists in the job orientation of new employees as a mentor.

* Provides quality customer service to all internal clients with ticketing needs.

* Assists with miscellaneous ticket office projects as directed.

* Required to work evenings and weekends according to business need.

* Work in the Arrival Plaza to collect payment for guest self-parking.

* Works in retail locations on The Straz campus as needed.

* Undertakes any other duties as directed by the management team.

* The employee must possess acute hearing and comprehension skills to speak with customers in person and on the phone.

* Must be able to enter information into the ticketing system in real-time while talking with a customer.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a professional and friendly phone demeanor.

* Active listening skills.

* Ability to compose professional and grammatically correct business correspondence.

* Courteous and friendly demeanor.

* Accurate cash and credit card handling skills.

* Proficiency with basic math computations (making change).

* Ability to respond in a calm and professional manner under stress.

* Strong attention to detail.

* Computer literate.

Education and Work Experience:

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* 1 year previous customer service experience required.

* Tessitura or ticket office software experience a plus.
