CUSTOMS BROKERAGE MANAGER USA
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs and supports compliance activities: Establishes annual targets/goals, determines area priorities, and oversees project implementation to ensure adherence to compliance standards across all branch offices.
- Monitors and evaluates compliance operations: Participates in operating activities, conducts internal audits, prepares reports, and provides recommendations for non-conformances to promote effective communication and information flow.
- Develops and leads training programs: Ensures personnel understand required procedures for customs and trade adherence through scheduled training courses and the development of SOPs for internal operations and client support.
- Interacts with stakeholders and clients: Engages with CHB Managers, Branch Managers, staff, and clients on compliance activities, regulatory obligations, and priority trade issues, providing consulting, compliance review, and risk assessment services as needed.
- Ensures regulatory compliance and process improvements: Communicates with Customs, conducts post-entry activities, reviews government regulations, assists in C-TPAT risk assessments, and evaluates process improvements and system enhancements to support compliance standards.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
- Bachelor's degree (Business, Logistics and Supply Chain, Transportation, or associate field), or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement.
- 5 years of Custom Brokerage in Freight Forwarding or third-party logistics company required.
- Customs Broker License required.
- Must have experience in basic corporate import/export requirements, international trade laws (classification, valuation, country of origin determination, country of origin marking, INCO terns, documentation, cross-border practices
