Job DescriptionJoin Electrolux Professional Group - asCustoms Compliance Specialist ABOUT THE JOB:The Customs Compliance Specialist will oversee all activities ensuring compliance with Customs regulations and provide operational support for imports and exports across food service, refrigeration, and beverage product lines.ResponsibilitiesABOUT YOUR TASKS:
- Maintain records, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and other agencies
- Manage FDA Product Reports for microwave products
- Provide targeted training and consultation
- Handle ACE reporting and monitor US Customs requests
- Review and apply ADD/CVD to required products
- Reconcile entry packets and review brokerage bills
- Audit suppliers for compliance with UFLPA and other regulations
- Develop and maintain Harmonized Tariff Schedule classifications (primarily in 8418, 8419, and 8438)
- Maintain import records and complete Protests and Post-Summary Corrections
- Respond to Binding Ruling Requests and complete POA and Bond documentation
- Advise on regulatory changes and their impacts
- Monitor ITA Anti-Dumping and Countervailing orders
- Investigate compliance risks and devise corrective actions
- Seek tariff reduction opportunities through exemptions and duty drawbacks
- Coordinate with Purchasing for compliant trade information
- Work with customs brokers and freight forwarders for timely shipment clearance.
- Conduct periodic audits
- Maintain import POA documentation
- Conduct restricted and denied party screenings
- Assign ECCN designations and complete export documents
- Coordinate EEI filings and complete Preferential Tariff Treaty forms
- Maintain export records
- Maintain Country of Origin and ECCN information
- Conduct jurisdiction and classification assessments for new products
- Maintain and update all manuals, processes, workflows, and procedures for both import and export as required
- Work collaboratively with Internal and External Legal Counsel as required and with stakeholders within our global network to drive solutions to complex import/export challenges
- Other duties as directed
QualificationsABOUT YOU:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ years of experience in either international trade or customs compliance, preferably in a multi-national environment.
- Knowledge of Lacey Act and TSCA required
- Knowledge of Drawback Entry Processing preferred
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Strong familiarity with ACE, FDA E-submitter, erulings.gov or other US Government-based systems, EEI filings, and Oracle ERPM
- LCB, or have CCS/CES, or CUSECO/CUSICO certification preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
- Excellent ability in both written and oral communication.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- In-depth understanding of international transportation preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate a computer keyboard and telephone. The employee frequently is required to walk, sit, or stand for extended periods of time (up to 10 hours). The employee may also be required to kneel, bend, and work dexterously with hands.
