Position Details Position Information Position Title Cutter/Draper FLSA Classification NE Reports to Costume Shop Manager Salary Range H1 Weeks Per Year 52 Work Week 40 hours (minimum) Position Summary Assumes responsibility for overseeing production-related aspects of the Costume Shop workroom in an effort to effectively and efficiently meet costume production requirements for The Hartt School's music, dance, and, theater productions. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students. Hiring Range Budgeted starting hourly rate is $18.60 to $21.75, depending upon experience Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
- Creates and/or constructs original patterns and costumes, by either machine or hand, from prototype or designer illustrations to final product.
- Tailors pre-built costumes. Creates new costumes by drafting patterns or draping. Tailors costume muslins to actors marking needed alterations.
- Creates, updates and oversees the formal records of all fittings in an effort to determine alteration methods for stock, rental and/or borrowed costumes. Assembles and maintains a production workbook of costumes for every productions, compiling a record of builds, rentals and/or stock costumes.
- Establishes, cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with various internal and external constituencies in an effort to meet the final theatrical costume details of each production.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
