Certified Welding InspectorCWI Needed for outage in 2025. Dates run early February to mid-April.Pay depends on years of CWI experience, familiarity with coal-fired boilers and industry experience. Range is $45-55hr.Schedule is 6 10's, Monday through Saturday. 7 day Per Diem, $125 per day.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough inspections of welding activities, including pre-weld, in-process, and post-weld inspections.
- Verify that welding procedures, qualifications, and certifications comply with applicable codes and standards.
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and welding procedures.
- Document and report any non-conformances, defects, or deviations from quality standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and welding personnel to resolve quality issues.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welds and welded components.
- Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records and reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
- Provide training and guidance to welding personnel on quality standards and best practices.
Essential Skills- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of welding codes, standards, and specifications (e.g., AWS, ASME, API).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to quality assurance.
- Willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
