Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management (GS PFM) specializes in creating personalized wealth management plans for affluent individuals and families. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

PMG

The Portfolio Management Group (PMG) is a dedicated and experienced team that is responsible for managing multi-asset class discretionary mandates for a variety of client types. This team brings together the independent investment advice of the Investment Strategy Group (ISG), a rigorous investment process, and a broad range of implementation options enabling them to construct risk-focused portfolios designed specifically for each clients unique considerations.

PMG is seeking an Associate who can serve a variety of functions including supporting business management, portfolio management, and trading functions. In this capacity, the role will play a critical role in helping to build a platform which will ultimately help manage multi-asset class portfolios for various wealth segments, ranging from mass-affluent to high-net-worth individuals. This is a unique opportunity for entrepreneurially-minded candidates who value the opportunity to help build a new and unparalleled investment offering. Business management responsibilities will include supporting the design and implementation of the investment platform; project management and organizational skills are a must. Portfolio management responsibilities will include rebalancing and trading support, cashflow / liquidity management, implementation changes, risk management, and account/model maintenance. Additional responsibilities include creation/maintenance of marketing materials, on-going ad hoc reporting/presentations, performance attribution, investment analysis requests, and other support functions. This is a dynamic role suited for a self-starter.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Work closely with senior team members in supporting the platform design of multi-asset class strategies
  • Support the management of the investment catalog, working with internal resources towards adding new implementations as necessary
  • Portfolio monitoring and rebalancing to predefined risk and construction parameters
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of marketing materials and other internal reporting / content which supports investment oversight
  • Manage generation of performance reporting including quarterly reviews and performance attribution
  • Support research and report on internal and external investment vehicles on a regular basis across asset classes
  • Keep abreast of the latest events in financial markets and draw inferences on portfolio impact
  • Work in conjunction with various product groups within the Consumer and Investment Management Division to respond to business needs
  • Serve as a key liaison to other areas supporting the PMG business including Legal, Compliance, and Technology
  • Work closely with Technology, building upon and developing portfolio management functionality
  • Manage model maintenance and support ad hoc reporting needs
  • Execute trading across Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), Mutual Funds, & allocate to Separately Managed Accounts
  • Assist in managing trade plans and structuring trades

QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WERE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum Bachelors degree (U.S. or equivalent)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal/leadership skills and a passion to engage with both internal and external contacts
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think clearly under pressure
  • Attention to detail, patience, and demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Proven project management experience and organizational skills
  • Strong interest in the financial markets and good investment sense/commercial instinct
  • Collaborative and team-oriented
  • Ability to work with numerous colleagues and desks across the Firm
  • Preference for previous trading experience, particularly with ETFs
  • Required: Strong Microsoft Office skills, including specific proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint
  • Series 7 and 63 required (must be obtained within three months of employment)
