This Opportunity
WSP USA is initiating a search for a Full-time Cx Project Manager (Mechanical) for our New York office.
Leverage your experience in commissioning and mechanical engineering to manage and lead commissioning projects. Collaborate closely with clients, architects, and project teams to ensure the successful execution of commissioning activities. This position requires expertise in MEP systems, LEED certification, and sustainable design practices.
Your Impact
Technical Responsibilities:
* Testing and Verification: Witness and document pre-functional and functional testing and verification of equipment and systems in the field.
* Project Leadership: Lead commissioning teams from project inception to closeout, ensuring project success and efficiency.
* Mechanical System Commissioning: Perform in-depth commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring their proper functioning and adherence to design intent.
* Systems Optimization: Optimize mechanical systems for energy efficiency and sustainability, identifying opportunities for improvement.
* Field Expertise: Conduct field assessments and system evaluations with an understanding of general commissioning guidelines.
* Documentation: Prepare comprehensive deliverables, including calculations, drawings, scheduling plans, and specifications, and perform commissioning focused design reviews.
* Code Compliance: Evaluate engineering guidelines, industry standards, commissioning and code requirements to ensure compliance.
* Proposal Development: Develop proposals and formulate responses to RFPs for commissioning projects.
* Project Planning: Create and maintain project plans, overseeing all project elements and resources.
* Client Engagement: Manage client expectations while maintaining project efficiency and meeting deliverable timelines.
* Budget and Fiscal Management: Ensure projects align with fiscal requirements, tracking project budget and costs.
* Contract Compliance: Track project scope against contracts, identify additional scope, and draft Add Service Requests.
General Responsibilities:
* Professional Representation: Represent the company professionally in interactions with owners, architects, vendors, and stakeholders.
* Mentorship: Assist in the firm's human resource efforts by providing training and mentorship to junior team members.
* Collaboration: Collaborate closely with marketing, leadership, and business development to contribute to the firm's growth and success.
* Flexibility: Adapt to flexible responsibilities and consistently set and meet project goals and deadlines.
* Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry trends and developments to meet and exceed client expectations.
* Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the overall success of the firm.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
* 7 to 10 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior building and systems commissioning experience.
* Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) certification is a plus. Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred,
but not required.
* Strong knowledge of MEP building systems and commissioning requirements.
* Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
* Keen attention to detail to ensure accurate and compliant design documentation.
* Excellent time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
* Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and effectively collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
* Collaborative team player, adept at communicating complex concepts.
* Knowledge of sustainable design practices and LEED certification a plus.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $125,000 - $150,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
