JOB OVERVIEW:

Howard Technology Solutions seeks a highly qualified Cyber Security Pre-Sales Engineer to focus on pre-sales activities. This role will be crucial in helping clients navigate the vast array of solutions provided by our cybersecurity partners. At Howard, we ensure that our clients receive unbiased recommendations based on their specific security needs. The engineer will work closely with the sales team to assess customer requirements and design tailored solutions to address business challenges effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Client Consultation:

  • Understand clients' cybersecurity needs, risk posture, and business objectives.
  • Provide expert recommendations for cybersecurity solutions, helping clients navigate offerings from various partner and vendors.
  • Communicate complex cybersecurity concepts in a way that both technical and non-technical personnel can understand.

Pre-Sales Support:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to scope and design secure network solutions for potential customers.
  • Create and present technical proposals, Bill of Materials (BOMs) and Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Participate in client meetings, providing technical expertise to ensure the most appropriate solution is selected.

Solution Design:

  • Design secure, scalable cybersecurity architectures, integrating solutions from multiple vendors as needed.
  • Work with vendors to understand and leverage the latest cybersecurity tools and services to deliver optimal outcomes for the client.
  • Ensure the solutions meet industry standards and best practices in security and compliance.

Market Expertise:

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the solutions offered by major cybersecurity vendors, including but not limited to Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Sophos, Check Point, and others.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, offering insights into the pros and cons of various solutions depending on the client's unique environment.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Howard Consulting Engineers, Project Managers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Act as a technical escalation point during pre-sales engagements to resolve complex issues or client concerns.

Documentation:

  • Produce and maintain detailed cybersecurity architecture and design documentation for proposed solutions.
  • Ensure all documentation and collateral are accurate and adequately stored.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay updated on the latest trends, threats, and solutions in the cybersecurity space by participating in industry conferences, certifications, and other educational opportunities.
  • Contribute insights for improving our cybersecurity service offerings and strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least five years of experience in IT with a focus on cybersecurity solutions.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing cybersecurity solutions across various vendors.
  • Extensive knowledge of firewall technologies, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, SIEM solutions, and vulnerability management.
  • Strong understanding of security standards and best practices, including NIST, CIS, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a pre-sales or customer-facing role is advantageous.

  • Cisco Certified CyberOps Professional
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Associate (PCCSA) or higher
  • Fortinet NSE4 or higher
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • CompTIA Security+

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and team orientation.
  • Strong technical understanding and ability to troubleshoot complex security problems.
  • Proficiency in cybersecurity architecture tools and project management software.
  • Ability to complete tasks independently and meet customer deadlines and timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing client and business needs.
