Job Description:

Our client assists in navigating the complex landscape of data privacy and cybersecurity laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other emerging legal frameworks. As a Cybersecurity Partner, you will leverage your legal and technical expertise to advise clients across various industries on data protection, privacy policies, and compliance strategies while working to prevent and respond to security incidents.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal advice on cybersecurity, data protection, and privacy compliance in line with GDPR and other international, federal, and state regulations.
  • Assist clients in formulating, implementing, and maintaining data privacy policies and procedures covering data collection, sharing, and security.
  • Lead data breach response efforts, including client communication, notification to consumers, coordination with state and federal regulatory agencies, and litigation response.
  • Conduct comprehensive data privacy and security risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and advise clients on best practices to mitigate risks.
  • Represent clients in investigations, regulatory negotiations, and litigation arising from data breaches or unauthorized disclosures of personally identifiable information.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar.
  • Extensive experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance, including in-depth knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven track record of handling data breach responses, including managing communications with regulatory bodies, clients, and affected individuals.
  • Demonstrated litigation experience in cases involving cybersecurity breaches or privacy violations.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage teams and lead client engagements.
