Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. This is a part-time, student employment position with no benefits.
This position will work with CS professors to support the implementation of new technologies and equipment in the lab, support systems administration tasks, and create documentation.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
* Support the implementation of new technologies and equipment in the lab Environment;
* Support systems administration tasks such as patching, updating, and maintaining infrastructure; and
* Document network diagrams, how-to guides and standard operating procedures.

Required Qualifications:
* Passed CS 242 (Computer Networks) and CS 116 (Fundamentals of Cybersecurity) with a good grade;
* Experience in fundamental networking concepts;
* Completed at least 2 semesters in any CS associate degree or certificate (or equivalent);
* 2.75 or higher GPA.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;
* Experience working in a diverse environment;
* Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students;
* Passed CS 141 (Linux System; Management) and/or CS 113 (Fundamentals of IT);
* Independent worker, self-starter, quick learner;
* Experience in network administration, maintenance, and monitoring;
* Experience with network tools to automate, manage and troubleshoot the Network;
* Experience with multiple operating systems (windows, Linux/Unix) and VPN;
* Demonstrated ability to work under pressure when resolving complex issues with strict deadlines;
* Ability to communicate (written and verbal) and collaborate effectively with the team members and faculty; and
* Certification in a major technology (Networking+, Security+, A+, CCNA, or equivalent).
