Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Cytologist to join our medical team. The Clinical Cytologist will be responsible for analyzing cell samples to detect abnormalities, diagnose diseases, and assist in patient care. This role involves working closely with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze Cell Samples: Examine and interpret cellular specimens (e.g., Pap smears, biopsies, bodily fluids) to identify diseases, including cancer, infections, and other abnormalities.
- Prepare and Stain Samples: Process, stain, and prepare specimens using laboratory equipment and techniques for microscopic examination.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all specimens are handled and analyzed with high accuracy and in compliance with lab protocols and safety standards.
- Documentation: Record findings in laboratory reports and collaborate with pathologists to help diagnose diseases based on cytological analysis.
- Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers, including pathologists, laboratory technicians, and physicians, to ensure effective patient care and follow-up.
- Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Ensure laboratory equipment is functioning properly and that supplies are adequately stocked.
- Stay Current: Keep up to date with advancements in cytology techniques and related technologies through continuous education and training.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Cytology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
- Certification: Active certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent regulatory body.
- Experience: Proven experience in cytology, particularly in screening and analysis of cellular samples. Experience with various laboratory equipment and techniques is preferred.

- Excellent communication skills for accurate documentation and collaboration.
