Cytologist / CytotechnologistLocation: Mobile, ALPay: $35 - $45/hour (Negotiable)Shift: First Shift, Monday – FridayBenefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 401k MatchRelocation: Applicants WelcomeJob SummaryAs a Cytotechnologist, you'll stain, mount, and study cells to detect cancer, hormonal abnormalities, and other pathological conditions, adhering to established standards and practices.Key Responsibilities: Examine cell samples for abnormalities in color, shape, or size. Submit slides with abnormal cells to pathologists. Prepare and analyze samples (e.g., PAP smears, body fluids, FNAs) to detect abnormal conditions. Ensure lab operations follow safety and specimen preparation standards. Adjust, maintain, and repair lab equipment (e.g., microscopes). Assign and coordinate tasks to maintain effective lab performance. Required Skills/Abilities: Solid knowledge of biology and medicine principles. Excellent finger dexterity and steady hand/arm coordination. Ability to distinguish color differences, including shades and brightness. Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Health Science (Master's preferred). CT ASCP certification required. 5+ years of related experience. Physical Requirements: Prolonged sitting and computer work. Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. Extended focus on small objects. May require standing for long periods.
