Position Title: Daily Substitute
Compensation: $225.00 A Day
Hours: 7:50am - 4:00pm
Supervisor: Principal / School Administrator
Position Goals:
To ensure that students are receiving instruction in a productive learning environment, that promotes student growth.
Performance Responsibilities:
* Teaches content and skills in subject area utilizing curriculum designated by AULCS and other appropriate learning activities.
* Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials; provides individualized and small group instruction in order to differentiate instruction based on the needs of each student.
* Evaluates and assesses students' academic growth and maintains appropriate records.
* Evaluates each student's progress in meeting the course standards.
* Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, and productive classroom environment.
* Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students with learning, health and/or conduct issues.
* Communicates with parents on student progress.
* Participates in faculty meetings and professional development activities.
* Promotes positive behaviors and restorative practices.
Experience/Knowledge:
* Demonstrate some knowledge of the principles and methodologies of effective teaching.
* Demonstrate some knowledge of Restorative Practices, and other research-based strategies to address student discipline.
* Strong organization skills.
* Must possess the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
* Knowledge and experience with school-based computer applications.
Education/Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of a 2.5 GPA required (Preferred)
* Teaching Experience in an urban school system (Preferred)
* Substitute Certificate is Required
Evaluation: Evaluated yearly based on meeting the intended outcomes and success measures for the position.
