Dairy Sales ConsultantThis position will work in dairy heavy markets and represents an excellent chance to work in partnership with the Purina business team to help increase feed sales. Youll also assist customers in achieving improved production/profitability in their dairy operations using Purina Feed Programs and the many tools Purina has available. This role will focus on increasing market share through the use and sale of proprietary technologies and products along with their knowledge and consultation of animal nutrition.
**Your primary responsibilities include:**
* Conduct targeted prospect calls to develop new and existing business growth; actively call on customers primary focus will be on dairy producers.
* Actively work with area feed manufacturing facilities in supporting the development and execution of sales growth strategies and tactics that incorporate Purina feed programs and technologies
* Work closely with all areas of the Purina Business team, to develop a strong and trusting relationship focused on their needs and the needs of their customers by positioning the programs, tools, technologies, and services of Purina.
* Provide reports on market and service activities as management requires and maintain up to date and accurate client history records.
**Education and Experience required:**
* Bachelor's degree in Ag or business-related field
* Preferred candidates will have 3-5 years of dairy industry experience with an animal science/nutrition emphasis geared toward both growing and maintaining a loyal customer base.
* Candidate should have a good understanding of animal husbandry, current management practices, and nutritional guidelines specific to both young and mature dairy animals
* Successful candidate should be competent to have basic command of animal nutrition and management recommendations in the market.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organization and time management skills.
* Success in this position requires prospect dairy visits, high internal drive, a natural ability for relationship building, public speaking aptitude, and leadership in a team environment.
