Job Description:
Position Summary: In the position of Damage Operations Lead, you will oversee staff and ensure daily tasks are completed on a timely and safe manner. Verify and maintain records on all incoming and outgoing shipments. Ensure an accurate inventory by following policy and procedures. Possess the ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Essential Job Functions:
  • Inspect incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Examine shipments to ensure accuracy and specifications are met. Ensure damage reports reflect what is brought into the damage department. Validate the damage department is assisting with reworks, create pallets of good, reworked cases, create proper placards and document prior to moving to a location.
  • Report and record damaged product brought over to the damage area (inbound, location, rework damages).
  • Assign and perform daily cycle counts to guarantee an accurate and consistent inventory. Run weekly report of items in the damage area and note any discrepancies. Ensure items match proper scrap postings.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Project a positive company image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner. Display a professional attitude while complying with company policies and procedures.
  • Supervisor warehouse staff and monitor performance on assigned daily tasks. Work with forklift drivers to create pick tickets to receive partial items for reworked product. Work with cycle counters to move reworked product to finished goods locations.
  • Maintain office functions including filing, billing, match receiving paperwork. Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional work area. Perform other duties as directed.
Position Requirements:
  • Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in the field ofBusiness, General Management or related field of study
  • Additional Experience Desired: Between 1-3 years of experience in shipping and receiving
  • Additional Experience Desired: Between 1-3 years of experience in general warehouse operations
  • Computer Skills Desired: Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, and warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Preferred Certifications: N/A
  • Additional Knowledge or Skills to be Successful in this role: Knowledge of safe warehouse practices and systems.
