Instructs dance technique & choreography for the county dance program. Choreography will range from students between ages 3-17, depending on location. Classes are scheduled for a 12 week session and/or an 8-month program and finishes the season with dance recitals. Teaching hours will run approximately 6-12 hours per week. Work is performed under the supervision of the Leisure Program Supervisor and the Dance Program Supervisor. Job Duties
- Organizes, plans, and instructs students with technique & choreography in dance.
- Plans and actively participates with students in a classroom setting with a variety of techniques, styles & choreography.
- Prepares students for events such as dance recitals and parades.
- Communicates with parents in keeping them updated by email, text, flyer or phone.
- Interacts with the general public.
Position Qualifications Knowledge of dance; general knowledge of first aid methods; ability to monitor program participants for health risk warning signs; ability to communicate effectively in an instructional environment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
