The right Data Analyst checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator. Reporting to the Senior Manager of FP&A, we are seeking a highly driven Data Analyst to join our team at Dollywood. The ideal candidate will deliver data-driven solutions and automation aimed at continually improving decision-making, optimizing operations, and improving the overall guest experience. This individual will be responsible for identifying existing manual processes that can be improved via data automation and designing/implementing alternatives, delivering solutions to help reduce task completion time, and utilizing project management skills to ensure all tasks are completed on time and on budget Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable. Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Data-Driven Analytics and Decision Making
    • Data Collection & Management:
      • Experience with SQL or Database querying tools and functional knowledge of data modeling, required
      • Collect, organize, and maintain large datasets from various internal systems (e.g., CRM, POS, ticketing, guest feedback) as well as external sources (market share, market trends, competitor analysis).
      • Strong computer skills with extensive knowledge of excel including power query, power pivot, and VBA.
      • Proficient in any scripting programming language (Python, Bash, PowerShell), preferred
    • Data Analysis & Reporting:
      • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, correlations, and patterns in guest behavior, financial performance, and operational efficiency. Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to management, highlighting key findings and actionable insights.
    • Data Visualization & Presentation:
      • Create and maintain dashboards, visual reports, and presentations that communicate complex data insights in an easy-to-understand format for non-technical stakeholders. Tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Python, R, or SQL are expected to be utilized.
    • Process Improvement:
      • Identify opportunities to improve data collection and analysis processes. Implement automation solutions and refine current workflows to maximize efficiency.
  • Strategic Insights
    • Performance Monitoring:
      • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) across multiple facets of the business, including guest satisfaction, revenue generation, operational costs, and employee productivity. Ensure metrics are aligned with business goals and drive continuous improvement.
    • Forecasting & Predictive Analysis:
      • Use historical data to develop predictive models, helping management forecast sales, visitor trends, and staffing needs.
  • Business Partnerships: Work closely with finance, operations, marketing, guest services, and IT teams to provide data-driven recommendations that enhance guest experiences, optimize pricing strategies, and increase revenue.
    • Collaborate with IT & Corp Data Analytics to improve data/reporting/dashboard functionality and drive automation
    • Work with subject matter experts to clearly scope projects and thoroughly understand the context and data available to address the problem at hand.
    • Explore and utilize data tables owned by adjacent business partners. Respond to changes in data models and identify and investigate issues.

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Undergraduate degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Masters in Data Analytics, MBA or MBA candidate preferred
  • 1-3 years' experience required with emphasis on data analysis role, preferably in hospitality, amusement parks, entertainment, or a customer service-focused industry.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Expert in Excel; experience in extracting and analyzing large data sets from multiple source systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communicative skills; ability to work across all levels of the organization as a valued business partner.
  • Innovative team player who can multitask and work independently.
  • Strong logical and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Tennessee driver's license and proof of insurance is required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis
    • Advanced skills in Excel, including power query, pivot tables, VBA, and complex formulas
    • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
    • Knowledge of CRM systems, POS data, and other operational systems in the hospitality industry is a plus
    • Knowledge of advanced statistical methods and machine learning models
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Strong ability to analyze complex datasets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights that support business goals. Excellent attention to detail and ability to think critically
  • Communication & Presentation:
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical data concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience presenting data-driven insights to senior management
  • Soft Skills:
    • Comfortable in an ambiguous environment. Able to seek solutions from SMEs independently and manage time wisely
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Able to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employees
