Number of Position(s): 1 Work Schedule: 8 am - 5 pm Work Day: Monday - Friday Job Description: The mission of this federal agency is to maintain and strengthen the nation's natural and man-made disasters. These disruptions disrupt lives, displace families, drive financial loss, and set back the local economies we rely on for our communities to thrive. Pandemics, storms, security events, earthquakes, and other incidents are becoming both more frequent and increasingly catastrophic. This federal agency is charged with connecting individuals, businesses, and private non-profits with federal agency disaster assistance programs to improve disaster recovery outcomes and economic resilience by helping communities prepare for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate against disasters of all types. Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Disaster Recovery Data Analyst, you will support disaster recovery efforts by gathering, analyzing, and reporting on data related to disaster preparedness, response, and recovery programs.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data related to disaster recovery activities, including response times, resource allocation, financial expenditures, and recovery outcomes.
  • Develop data models, reports, and dashboards to track the performance of disaster recovery programs and identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Support the creation of risk assessments and predictive models to improve disaster preparedness and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity, and to inform decision-making processes.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support federal disaster recovery programs, helping to improve community resilience and the efficiency of response efforts.
  • Assist in the development of performance metrics for disaster recovery programs and present findings to stakeholders, including federal agencies and local governments.
  • Support post-disaster recovery reviews by analyzing program outcomes, identifying gaps in processes, and making recommendations for future improvements.
  • Manage datasets, ensuring compliance with data privacy and security standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in disaster recovery, data analytics, and emergency management.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Administration, Emergency Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, with a preference for experience in disaster recovery, emergency management, or related sectors.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools to communicate complex findings clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess large datasets and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting data to diverse stakeholders.
