Job Description:

The DBI team specializes in the evaluation of damaged structures. DBI s construction experts provide independent recommendations and analysis to clients in the insurance and legal industry. Hard evidence, expertise, and accuracy drive work; communication and connection are the company s top priorities. The Data Analyst will work act as the subject matter expert (SME) on report writing, report visualization, data requests, and owning complex data projects. The Data Analyst will be responsible for creating and maintaining dashboards, as well as testing custom created platforms and troubleshooting.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement new reporting and dashboards to assist teams ability to perform their job and to provide actionable insights in a scalable and sustainable way.
  • Maintain and oversee all existing dashboards and reports.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot reports and dashboards for performance, quality, and data integrity. Work with external developer when necessary.
  • Provide support to team to ensure availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards.
  • Write reports utilizing data visualizations and dashboards derived from a large volume of data, ensuring accuracy and precision, reconciling data to ensure accuracy in all tasks.
  • Act as subject matter expert of company s available datasets, spanning a range of data and data types.
  • Perform audit in production to ensure data is accurate and identify areas that require quality control.
  • Run ad-hoc data requests.
  • Identify areas to improve overall efficiency and data integrity, across departments.
  • Continually improve and augment reporting; increase reporting as new data becomes available.
  • Be agile in learning new skills and technologies as required for the role.
  • Perform duties with low supervision, taking initiative to accomplish team objectives/goals.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor s degree in computer science, or relevant data technology field.
  • Three (3) Years of relevant work experience in software development, database, analytical tools, and report writing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with users at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience creating dashboards and self-service capabilities for stakeholders through reporting tools (Power Bi, etc.).
  • Experience applying statistical techniques to understand and quantify the relationships between metrics and differentiate between correlation and causation.
  • Proven understanding of python, especially libraries and packages focused on data processing, as well as analysis.
  • Proficient in PowerBI, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office with ability to use Excel's advanced functions.
  • Experience in DevExpress, SQL and distributed files systems, as well as using multiple data sources.
  • Demonstrated project or work experience using one more programming/scripting languages.
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement, as well as devise and implement innovative solutions.
  • Analytical ability for data gathering, transformation, and complex analysis.
  • Eagerness to learn, well-organized, and detail oriented.
  • Navigate large datasets and work with multiple data sets and sources.
  • Ability to clearly present findings and recommendations to diverse collaborators.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is conducted primarily in an indoor office environment with protection from weather conditions and with exposure to noise typical of an office or administrative setting.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

Work requires light lifting (10 15 lbs.), standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, fingering (keyboarding) and repetitive hand motion, grasping, talking, and hearing at normal speaking levels. Work requires visual acuity to read and prepare data and figures, transcribe words and numbers, view information on a computer terminal, read, operate office machines, and determine the accuracy and thoroughness of work.

The Data Analyst is required to work in the DBI New York or Atlanta office from 9:00AM - 6:00PM ET in order to accommodate occasional meetings and work activities.

Salary: 70K+
