Our client is seeking an entry level Data Analyst. The candidate will be responsible for collecting, managing, and analyzing data and metrics related to the rail hauling industry and presenting this information in an organized fashion to decision makers.In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of the analytical life-cycle from collecting and preparing data to fostering a self-service data culture.Industry data science experience is not required. However, the company is highly interested in a military candidate with a B.S in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines.They prefer someone who is highly proficient with Excel; and can demonstrate their real-world experience, from the military, with collecting and presenting large amounts of data for logistics, operations, for rail scenarios.Job description:The Data Analyst is directly responsible for the support, administration, development, and fostering a data culture. The suitable candidate will function as the lead and Tableau subject matter expert in all aspects of the analytical lifecycle from collecting and preparing data to fostering a self-service data culture utilizing Tableau.The responsibilities will also include SSRS administration including user management, training and overall system support. Position responsibilities:- Support and administering Tableau Server and desktop deployment- Develop and maintain effective dashboards- Create and maintain Tableau extracts- The Data Analyst will have exposure to all business units, plants, processes, and products in order to work with data scientists, business analyst and other users.- Responsible for collaborating with business partners to enable and deliver effective visuals for use in Tableau and SSRS.- Work with business units and departments to deliver data aggregations to executives, business analysts and other end users for more basic types of analysis to aid in ongoing operations.Qualifications:- B.S in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines- 2+ years of developing Data Visualization solutions using Tableau- Experience working with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata) is required- Willingness to travel as much as 30% of the time.- Desire to work in a dynamic environment and have a continuous improvement and development mindsetOther Skills:- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate at all levels of the organization - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is critical.- Ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders as well as the SAP team to get work done on time$80 - $90k+ plus 5% Employee Stock Options (ESOP); Full benefits; Tuition reimbursement; future promotion to Data Engineer and Data Scientist
