Job Title: Data Analyst

Job Description

The Data Analyst will be part of our Actuarial Department located in Glastonbury, CT. This role will support the Company's efforts to build and refine Actuarial and Management reporting, data analysis and to manage statistical reporting to the various state insurance regulators.

Responsibilities

• Extract and analyze premium and claims data from our systems to provide insightful and user friendly KBI
• Manage the integration of our new acquisition's reporting with parent reporting including designing and creating improved information tools for the group
• Manage Regulatory Compliance statistical reporting
• Assist other Departments with data analysis
• Build and maintain reports using Power BI Desktop and Web
• Special Projects including operational and process studies aimed to improve efficiency and financial results

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

· Qualifications Required:

o BS or BA in a computer science/systems related field

o 3+ years of operational or project experience working with property & casualty insurance datasets

o Data analysis experience using Excel, SQL and/or technical reporting tools

o Commercial lines experience preferred

· Skills Required:

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office

o Able to thrive in fast-paced environment and flexibility dealing with significant operational change

o Able to take direction and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines

o Excellent written and oral communication skills around highly technical items

o Administrative experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI

Location

The Company currently follows a hybrid office/remote work schedule:

· Tuesday-Thursday – In office, Glastonbury, CT

· Monday and Friday – Option to work remotely (following completion of probationary period)
