Job Description The DECODE LAB group at Nemours and the Biomedical Research Informatics Center (BRIC) seeks a motivated Data Analyst to conduct research for both internally and externally funded projects of interest in a multi-PI laboratory setting. This position will work under Department of Neurology in conjunction with the BRIC as part of a growing group of biomedical informatics staff at Nemours. The position will have primary reporting to Dr Hernan. A PhD in Neuroscience or Cognitive Science is preferred with experience working with small animals. Primary functions include:
  • Performs a range of experiments and data analyses under the direction of multiple PI.
  • May be required to perform experiments during certain weekends or after hours (depending on the need of experiment).
  • Signal acquisition and processing from cells.
  • Microscopy skills (Calcium imaging data a plus)
  • Animal handling (surgical skills preferred)
  • In vivo electrophysiology (preferred)
  • Programming knowledge (Matlab, Python or R)
  • Maintains organized and detailed handwritten and computerized records of work performed.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills conducive to working in a team.
  • Statistical knowledge
Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities include:
  • A team player
  • Laboratory Etiquette
  • Ability to present data during lab meetings and conferences.
  • Attend monthly meetings with Nemours Bio-Informatics group.
Qualifications:
  • Post Graduate Degree in the field of Neuroscience or Cognitive Science with some experience working with small animals (strogly preferred)
  • At least one year of relevant experience. This position is contingent upon funding.
