Description: Job Summary:Through collaboration with stakeholders across the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine (KPSOM), the Data Analyst is responsible for conducting analytics projects, establishing and querying databases, preparing interpretive analyses, and presenting findings through reports or dashboards.Essential Responsibilities:
  • Research, gather, analyze and summarize complex information for school projects with a broad range of information for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization to synthesize, analyze and present school-wide issues.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for information and analysis.
  • Regularly engage in data analysis and periodically produce reports and information that inform the strategic decision-making of stakeholders.
  • Synthesize complex issues and present them in a creative and non-technical manner.
  • Practice effective data management skills by creating and maintaining tracking systems and databases.
  • Help develop and maintain data visualizations/dashboards using appropriate technologies leveraged by the organization such as Tableau and PowerBI.
  • Assist in data quality monitoring and governance.
  • Contribute to developing a systematic approach to data collection and reporting, as well as performance metric tracking for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Coordinate and/or perform periodic, recurring reporting for external surveys.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: Experience
  • Minimum three (3) related years of work experience.
Education
  • Bachelors degree.
License, Certification, Registration

  • Strong ability to pay attention to details, problem solve, and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytic decision-making skills required to complete activities/tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to become familiar with new topics quickly, ability to meet challenging deadlines amidst multiple priorities.
  • Orientation to collaborating with others, and synthesizing information from multiple stakeholders into a coherent work product.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five (5) years of work experience in related field.
  • Masters degree in related field.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in written and verbal communication of technical material.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working as a member of a technical project team on complex projects.
  • Experience with managing data visualizations and dashboards.
  • Experience in higher education.
