In particular, the Data Analytics SME will possess expertise and professional experience in:
  • Data analytics techniques
  • Applications of data analytics
  • Databases and SQL programming
  • Python and R programming
  • Communication and presentation of data analyses
Fulfilling Cleary University's Mission to provide an intimate and inclusive, student-centered business education that instills the values of The Cleary Mindâ„¢ in our community , the Data Analytics SME works closely with leadership, faculty, and instructional design personnel to revise courses for Cleary University's undergraduate student body, which includes traditional campus-based students, student athletes, and returning adult students across a variety of instructional modalities. The Data Analytics SME combines their formal education, professional knowledge, and real-world experience to guide content revision in the course design process. Working closely with academic leadership, faculty, and instructional designers, the Data Analytics SME creates and revises course elements:
  • Course materials (e.g., textbooks, articles, videos, and online course curations).
  • Course assignments (e.g., discussion questions, presentations, applied analyses, and culminating projects).
With the assistance of an instructional designer, the Data Analytics SME will ensure Cleary students explore appropriate content and apply their knowledge to meet course-level outcomes and create weekly learning objectives branched out from the main course objectives. The Data Analytics SME will consult with leadership, faculty, and instructional designers to ensure consistency of revisions with existing Cleary programs and courses, along with key elements of Cleary's plan for the assessment of student learning. The contract position can be remote or based in the Howell, MI, area. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue to be accepted until the contract position is filled. Expected Time Commitments and Potential Compensation The Data Analytics SME will work directly with a Cleary instructional designer throughout the term of the contract project, including the following time commitments and potential compensation:
  • Participate in a weekly meeting with an instructional designer to discuss program and course development progress (ranging from 4 to 6 weeks per course, with each meeting of 30 to 60 minutes duration).
  • Research, create, and revise course materials (ranging from 3 to 5 hours each week).
  • Participate in consultation with leadership and faculty (ranging 1 to 2 hours total).
  • Potential Compensation (depends on the SME contract specifics) includes $500 per course revision and $700 per course creation.
QualificationsQualifications and Required Skills
  • An earned master's degree from an institutionally (i.e., regionally) accredited institution in data analytics, data science, or a closely-related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of current professional experience in data analytics.
  • A minimum of one year teaching experience teaching undergraduate data analytics courses at the university/college level.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and other software programs for communicating, creating, and maintaining spreadsheets, reports, and presentations.
Employment Classification: The Data Analytics SME will be a contract employee.
