About the position: ING is looking to streamline the application set, data sources and reporting into consolidated platforms, which adhere to strategic direction and simplify data flows and improve data quality. In order to achieve these goals, the successful candidate will analyze existing feeds, flows in and out, data structures, transformations and target operating data lakes in order to simplify these flows and reduce their number and reduce the number of transformations. The position will report directly into the CIO office. The successful candidate will work with DevOps leads and engineers, and business units to accomplish the mission. About the department: ING Americas CIO Office is an organization which executes strategic plans to align all technology teams with ING's strategy and locally with business. Responsibilities:
  • As the Data Architect you will be responsible for:
  • Developing a deep understanding of the existing architecture of data warehouses, data lakes both local and global.
  • Closely work with global architecture tribe to identify path to target
  • Analyzing the reporting structures and understanding the underlaying data required for the reports.
  • Analyze and identify redundant data.
  • Identify ways to improve the data flows to remove redundancy and bring legacy to target solutions.
  • Identify and implement transformations required to simplify the data flows.
  • Identify and implement migration strategies to target platforms while supporting existing structures.
  • Understand in depth and enforcing data integrity.
  • Perform all changes according with ING change control and ensuring continues reliability and availability of the systems.
  • Taking the lead in self-development by staying abreast of industry trends and sharing your knowledge with your direct reports
In addition:
  • You should familiarize yourself with azure pipelines.
  • Know the principles of agile way of working.
  • Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability
  • Evaluating innovative technology alternatives and vendor products
  • Designing and maintaining systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring
  • Creating IT risk and security artifacts like pen testing, security assessments, Identity and access management processes, Disaster recovery etc.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Bachelor diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent experience in related field
  • Level of expertise required:
  • Architecture Data Warehousing - expert
  • Application architecture - proficient
  • Data Manipulation (ETL) - proficient
  • Proven record of accomplishment in successfully managing Data projects & teams throughout the complete project lifecycle in an agile organization
  • Passionate about technology and self-development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational sensitivity and the ability to understand and consider the underlying issues, opportunities, and dynamics of the cross-border organization.
  • Continuous improvement mind-set
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality and Data Security principle
  • [Preferred] Strong understanding of financial products and services, including Commercial and Investment banking.
  • [Preferred] Familiarity with Financial Regulatory requirements and/or Agencies such as FINRA, SEC, NFA
  • [Preferred] having a good understanding of global systems such as ledger, data lakes and Global Processing Center
  • [Preferred]Knowledge of current platforms and current strategic solutions
Proficiency required:
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing complex data architecture solutions.
  • Strong familiarity with MS-SQL and Oracle warehousing platforms
  • Expertise in data modeling
  • Strong background in ETL tools
  • Scripting - Python, PowerShell, JavaScript
  • Pipeline development - YAML
Salary Range: $170,000-$190,000 The salary range above represents a good faith range for a USA-based employee performing the role in New York City. In-line with ING's Short Term Assignment Procedure, assignees continue to be paid their home country salary while on assignment. Some assignment related allowances/benefits are provided to address differentials in taxation, housing, and cost of living between the home and host location.
