Data Analyst - Hybrid (WORK WILL BE PERFORMED ON SITE & REMOTELY) On-Site Location: Rockville, MD Objectives and Essential Functions:
- Develop the data management, data quality, and analysis strategy for the government client in coordination with leadership and technical staff
- Build, direct, manage, and implement aspects of performance management, such as through Prosecutorial Performance Indicators (PPI) and improvement initiatives with a goal of improving processes as appropriate
- Establish a performance improvement monitoring and reporting system. Regularly report the status of performance and quality improvement efforts and impacts. Coordinate and prepare an annual accountability report including performance analysis
- Search out the best performance and quality improvement practices and suggest areas where they could be implemented
- Assist in the development and maintain a website-driven statistical dashboard
- Establish working relationships with the government client's data stewards, and links to national, state, and county research and statistical sources, as well as identifying best practices in effective crime-fighting solutions aimed at increasing the security of the government client's residents
- In coordination with technical staff, oversee the design, maintenance, and utilization of databases related to research reporting
- Analyze SAO programs and functions to determine how the management systems can more efficiently accomplish objectives
- Research issues and trends and develop new methods and criteria for performing objectives.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- 10+' experience full-time in data management or data analytics-related role, with a track record of analyzing complex data sets with descriptive data analysis techniques
- Experienced using Excel (Pivot Tables), SPSS, SQL, Microsoft Access, Python, or R.
- Proficient in extracting data from relational databases using various query software tools, graphic displays for data presentation, database tools, and spreadsheet software
- Experience querying databases and large data sets to combine and manipulate data (e.g., import data, assess missingness, filter, transform variables, derive variables) using data extraction tools
- Experience and understanding of Power BI reporting and dashboards
Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in higher education, social sciences, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
