Job DescriptionPenn National Insurance is looking to add a Data & Business Intelligence Analyst to our incredible IT team! This is a hybrid position reporting to the home office in Harrisburg, PA.The Data and Business Intelligence Analyst position resides in the Information Technology department on the Enterprise Data Warehouse team. This position supports data collection, manipulation, reporting, and analysis in support of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, Advanced Analytics, and other areas within the company.COMPETENCIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE DATA AND BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYSTBusiness Acumen
- Maintains and updates data including extracts, queries, aggregates, and snapshots.
- Extracts data for ad hoc predictive modeling projects.
- Identifies and recommends internal and external data to be used for modeling and/or decision making.
- Provides data and analysis for ad hoc projects as directed.
- Has practical knowledge of various internal data sources (i.e., policy admin systems, claims systems, IT systems).
- Is aware of workflows in various departments throughout the organization.

- Minimum of 2 years professional statistical or analytical experience, preferably within a property and casualty insurance environment
- Programming skills in structured query language or other data management /analysis applications, such as Microsoft Access, SQL or other database program
- Experience designing reports for end-users preferred
