Job Description:

The Accounting Assistant contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing and being responsible for all financial tasks for the organization. The Accounting Assistant will have a Degree in Accounting.

Primary Duties:

The Accounting Assistant performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:

  • Manage all accounting operations based on accounting principles
  • Knowledge with Medicaid billing
  • Prepare budget and financial forecasts
  • Publish financial statements in time
  • Reconcile agency accounts
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close process
  • Analyze and summarize account information
  • Compute taxes and prepare tax returns, balance sheet, profit/loss statements, etc
  • Develop periodic reports for management
  • Audit financial transactions and document accounting control procedures
  • Keep information confidential and secure
  • Keep up with financial policies, regulations and legislation
  • Representative payee
  • Self starter, efficient, productive, works well with a team
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Fluid knowledge with QuickBooks

Payroll preparation and administration

  • Oversee all payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner
  • Process and submit statutory and benefits remittances on time
