Job SummaryThe Data Center Electrical Technician is responsible for supporting and sustaining electrical operations in the data center. This position engages in a variety of activities, including walking the facility and inspecting infrastructure systems, performing routine maintenance, supervising the facility, assessing needs, monitoring construction projects, and completing repairs as needed. The Electrical Technician ensures that the data center infrastructure operates smoothly, and quality service is continuously provided.This position provides a unique opportunity to expand your skillset and experience working on a critical data center infrastructure. If you are looking for a company that will provide you with a lot of opportunity to learn and grow your skillset, this may be a great fit for you!Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMonitor, troubleshoot, and repair building infrastructure systems, such as server containers, cooling equipment (fan, pump, heat exchanger), HVAC, electrical, etc.Install and maintain door access controls and security cameras.Follow defined protocol and procedures for setting up equipment.Perform preventive maintenance on all building equipment.Assemble and commission data center equipment.Prepare change management forms.Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and use of protective equipment.Ensure prompt and effective response to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure etc.).Relay reported anomalies to prevent issues and ensure service quality. Make suggestions for improvements to equipment and/or processes.Minimum Requirements3+ years of experience working with critical data center infrastructure, with strong electrical skills and experience.Trade electrical license or certification acquired through education/training preferred.Facilities maintenance certification preferred.Knowledge of hardware and servers.Knowledge of the data center environment (network, electrical, filtration, air conditioning, water cooling, etc.)Strong verbal and written communication skills.Must be willing to work on-call at least one weekend day each week, and unscheduled overtime as needed to complete projects or break-fixes.The ability to work in an active environment, and perform inspections, to do some work outdoors in the weather if needed, and to lift heavy objects.Ability to work in an active team environment, perform inspections, lift heavy objects, and perform work outdoors, regardless of weather conditions, as needed.
