Our challenge A critical network modernization project is underway for a prestigious client. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Center Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure of our data center, with expertise in networking fundamentals, network hardware, security, data center infrastructure, virtualization, cloud technologies, scripting, automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Additional Information* The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $115k - $120k/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain the network infrastructure of the data center, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and network topologies, to optimize network performance and reliability.
  • Configure, deploy, and manage network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, to support the data center's networking requirements.
  • Implement and manage network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, DDoS protection, and other security measures to protect the data center's infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and virtualization teams to integrate data center networking with virtualization and cloud technologies.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline network management and maintenance processes within the data center environment.
  • Monitor network performance, identify and troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize data center network performance and reliability.
Requirements: You are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong expertise in networking fundamentals, with in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and network topologies.
  • Proficiency with Cisco IOS/NX-OS, data center routing, switching, and WAN technologies.
  • Extensive experience with network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, with a focus on configuration, deployment, and management.
  • Proficiency in network security principles, practices, and technologies, with hands-on experience in implementing and managing security solutions.
  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud technologies, and the ability to integrate networking with these environments.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and automation tools for network management and maintenance.
  • Experience in monitoring and troubleshooting network performance issues in a data center environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues efficiently
