Job Description:

Description: TEKsystems client has a need to add to their Data Center Team. They are in the midst of consolidating their existing IT locations and data centers. They do not have the bandwidth with existing team members to decommission these data centers so they are looking to hire in a Data Center Technician to help with this initiative. Since there are several moving parts currently, this individual will also assist with projects on a day to day basis such as tracking fiber, inventory of assets, and various other tasks that need to be done within the data center. Initially this person will support the removal of two large tape drives. Assist in the coordination of the electrical and fire suppression removal. Remove and prepare all tapes to be transported to propriety disposition. Conduct an inventory audit of assets in datacenters. Compare records between systems, and update as needed. Creating and maintaining rack-level diagrams for other service providers. Conduct and import fiber trunk information into dcTrack DCIM. Support all physical aspects of IT equipment in the Data Centers. This includes cabinet enclosures, servers, network routers and switches. Prefer candidate with 3-5 years of production experience in mission critical datacenters. Skills: Cabling, Hardware, Rack and Stack, Data Center, Infrastructure, Server Support Additional Skills & Qualifications: While it isn't required, having experience with Sunbird DCIM would be a huge plus.
