About the Role:

Our Client is seeking a skilled technician to join their Data Center Services (DCS) team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, installing, troubleshooting, and decommissioning equipment. You will also collaborate with other technicians to complete challenging tasks and ensure efficient workflow.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate an applied understanding of standard processes and procedures for equipment preparation, installation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, replacement, and decommissioning.
  • Proactively share relevant information to enable efficient workflow and mitigate the impact of changes on others.
  • Comply with DCS business unit and service-level policies, procedures, and deadlines.
  • Complete assigned tickets efficiently and meet or exceed established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns according to specific instructions.
  • Assist and provide guidance to other technicians to complete challenging or complex tasks.
  • Perform post-execution quality checks and verify proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures.
  • Identify the cause(s) of issues and replace faulty components with minimal disruption.
  • Provide guidance to technicians troubleshooting issues.
  • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes following standard procedures.
  • Follow procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate management units.
  • Develop an understanding of cross-functional processes to support partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Complete required training and gain hands-on experience through observation and on-the-job training.
  • Participate in daily safety briefings and comply with safety procedures.
  • Comply with security and data management procedures and policies.
  • Contribute to a positive and effective team environment by sharing information, contributing to team meetings, and staying apprised of others' work.

Qualifications:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and basic knowledge of computer hardware and components AND 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology

Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
