Job DetailsJob Location Administration - Flint, MI Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Travel Percentage Up to 25% Job Shift Day DescriptionJob Title: Data/Charge Entry ClerkDepartment: BillingReports To: Billing SupervisorFLSA Status: Non Exempt, hourlyPosition Summary This position is responsible for entering data into the billing software and will provide clerical support to the billing department. Duties &ResponsibilitiesGeneral responsibilities
  • Responsible for reviewing encounters for accuracy and completeness before entering charges into the practice management system.
  • Accurately enters CPT and ICD9 codes from the encounter into the practice management system in a timely manner.
  • Contacts appropriate departments and eligibility systems to obtain necessary information for billing purposes.
  • Provide clerical support to the billing department.
  • Filing, running missing slip reports and contacting clinics in regards to missing charges.
  • Notifying Billing Supervisor of items that need to be added to the practice management software for entering charges.
  • Sorting incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Support biller with posting payments and tracking payment plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.
JobRequirementsEducation and/or Experience High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Must have a minimum of one year of experience with computers. Must know medical terminology. Data entry experience required. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
