Duties &ResponsibilitiesGeneral responsibilities
- Responsible for reviewing encounters for accuracy and completeness before entering charges into the practice management system.
- Accurately enters CPT and ICD9 codes from the encounter into the practice management system in a timely manner.
- Contacts appropriate departments and eligibility systems to obtain necessary information for billing purposes.
- Provide clerical support to the billing department.
- Filing, running missing slip reports and contacting clinics in regards to missing charges.
- Notifying Billing Supervisor of items that need to be added to the practice management software for entering charges.
- Sorting incoming and outgoing mail.
- Support biller with posting payments and tracking payment plans.
- Other duties as assigned.
JobRequirementsEducation and/or Experience High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Must have a minimum of one year of experience with computers. Must know medical terminology.
