Data Engineer Manager
Location: On-site in Houston, TX 5 times a year

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer Manager to lead a team of data engineers and oversee data ingestion from Epic and other platforms into our Snowflake data warehouse. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, requiring a strong background in cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and Snowflake architecture. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing teams, engaging with executive leadership, and driving strategic decisions around data engineering practices.
Core Responsibilities:
- Data Ingestion & Migration: Lead data ingestion from Epic and other systems into Snowflake, ensuring transformation, quality, and user group integration.
- Cloud & Infrastructure Management: Oversee cloud environment setup and management, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Snowflake Optimization: Manage Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and security protocols.
- Team Leadership: Guide and mentor, a team of data engineers, foster collaboration, and implement best practices.
- Strategic Collaboration: Engage with executives in leadership meetings, providing clear updates and strategic recommendations.
- Tool & Tech Evaluation: Lead the adoption of new tools and technologies to improve data engineering processes.
- Tableau Integration: Ensure smooth connectivity between Tableau and Snowflake for reporting and data visualization.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with expertise in Python, SQL, and Snowflake.
- Experience with Epic Data Migration to Snowflake is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud platforms and data pipeline development.
- Healthcare data experience preferred.
- Leadership Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management experience.
- Comfortable engaging with executives and presenting technical updates to non-technical stakeholders.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Snowflake architecture, cloud infrastructure, and Tableau integration.
- Familiarity with Sigma Front-End and other data visualization tools is a plus.
