Banyan Global operates seamlessly within give practice areas of health, economic growth, gender, youth, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL).Banyan Global is recruiting a Data Entry Intern for the USAID/Malawi Learn to Perform (L2P) activity. L2P aims to strengthen the Mission's capacity to make data-driven decisions and strategically steer the Mission's highly integrated Country Development and Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) towards greater development results. The L2P activity aims to achieve the following three primary objectives:* Objective 1: Improve the quality, efficiency, and timeliness of the Mission's performance management.* Objective 2: Advance strategic collaboration, learning, and adaptive approaches; and* Objective 3: Build Monitoring, Evaluation, Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (MECLA) capacity among USAID staff and key partners.L2P is undertaking several tasks to support the Mission in implementing the revised Performance Management Plan (PMP). As part of this task, L2P has developed a GIS-based web application and interactive dashboard that will allow for visualizing and producing analytical products based on PMP indicators. With the limited data disaggregation in DIS, L2P is using other data sources, such as the District Health Information System (DHIS), National Statistical Office (NSO) national-wide surveys, and the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) platform, to obtain PMP indicator data that are disaggregated to the district level and can easily be used to produce GIS analytical products based on PMP indicators.L2P has developed an Excel-based geo-database template for entering district-level PMP indicator and other context data. Once completed, the database will be uploaded to the USAID/Malawi online GIS platform to allow for the visualization and production of GIS analytical products based on PMP and context indicators. Due to competing work priorities, the GIS Specialists have only been able to populate data for few select indicators and performance years. L2P plans to engage a short-term data entry intern to support populating the PMP indicator template with data from the DHIS, NSO surveys, IPC platform and other sources.ObjectivesThe purpose of this internship is to support the L2P data manager and GIS team with data entry of district level PMP indicator data into an excel-based geo-database template. The intern will work closely with the Learn to Perform (L2P) GIS Specialist to ensure the data are captured accurately and in a timely manner following a format that allows for easy integration into the GIS web application and interactive dashboard.Responsibilities* Review and understand the excel-based geo-database template.* Review and understand the PMP indicators and the original data sources (DHIS, NSO survey reports, IPC platform and other sources).* Accurately input PMP Indicators data into an Excel-based geo-database template.* Ensure that all data entries are consistent and error-free.* Collaborate with L2P staff to understand data entry requirements and deadlines.* Report progress and any data issues observed to the supervisor promptly.Qualifications* At least a first degree in ICT or related fields.* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.* Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.* Basic understanding of GIS concepts is an advantage.Banyan Global is committed to diversity and inclusion in our workforce.
