We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Governance and Master Data Management Lead to spearhead our Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Governance initiatives. This role will be critical in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of our data assets across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for driving data governance best practices, specifically in the Microsoft Azure data analytics environment.

Responsibilities:

Master Data Management

  • Lead and execute the implementation of our master data management (MDM) strategy and roadmap aligned with the business priorities and goals to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all business units.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business and technology teams to establish master data management standards, architecture, business processes, and frameworks.
  • Lead the integration of master data across various systems and platforms, ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility.
  • Custodian of the Reltio MDM platform.
  • Develop and publish MDM metrics and statistics.

Data & Information Governance

  • Establish data governance frameworks for data quality and security standards.
  • Implement data cataloging and metadata management processes to facilitate data discovery and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Assess, recommend, and implement capabilities related to business and technical metadata, data lineage, data profiling, data asset curation, and data quality improvement efforts.
  • Provide thought leadership, subject matter expertise, and best practices in data & information governance and knowledge management.
  • Implement appropriate security measures such as encryption, access control, and data masking to protect sensitive data assets.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment on data-related initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management and governance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data management processes, tools, and technologies.
  • Manage relationships with the strategic software vendors and service providers providing technology solutions and ongoing implementation support.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor team members in sharing knowledge, developing standards, and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Strong Master Data Management and Data governance knowledge and experience.
  • Expertise in master data management system architecture and data integrations.
  • Experience with leading implementation and operations of MDM platforms like Reltio, or similar.
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance, data and knowledge management concepts, approaches, and tools, and the role of data governance in the successful implementation of data strategy.
  • Ability to explain the value of data governance and supporting technology to both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding and awareness of data privacy and data security.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of modern technologies like cloud computing, cybersecurity, data platforms like Microsoft Azure, and Databricks
  • Solid experience with SQL, writing complex queries, Views, and Stored Procedures.
  • Experience with database design and data modeling is a plus.
  • Experience with RELTIO for master data management (MDM) is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud data analytics implementations in Microsoft Azure, Synapse, Databricks, and Microsoft Purview is a plus.
  • Experience with Data Analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI is a plus.
  • Strong written/oral communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with Retail Distribution, 3PL, or Transportation Logistics is a plus.
