This is a full-time W2 position, and you will be working onsite in the bustling and vibrant environment of NYC. Key Responsibilities
- Data Governance Framework Implementation:
- Collaborate with business and IT teams to implement, monitor, and improve data governance strategies and frameworks.
- Ensure the proper application of data governance policies such as data quality, data privacy, and data stewardship.
- Define, document, and communicate data governance standards, best practices, and procedures across the organization.
- Deep understanding of data governance regulations (GDPR, CCPA, SOX, HIPPA, etc.), data privacy requirements, and internal data policies.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
- Work with business units to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable governance solutions.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions to educate business users on data governance principles, data stewardship, and data quality best practices.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams (IT, Data Engineering) and business users to ensure alignment of data governance requirements.
- Metrics and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track data governance metrics, such as data quality, compliance, and usage.
- Regularly report on the progress of data governance initiatives, highlighting risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting for data quality KPIs and audit trails, addressing any discrepancies or inconsistencies.
- Data Governance Strategy and Continuous Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve existing data governance processes to optimize efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
- Stay current on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to data governance.
- Contribute to the development of a long-term data governance roadmap aligned with business priorities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Business Administration.
- Experience:
- 5 years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, or related techno-functional roles.
- Prior experience in the Financial Industry.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including data stewards, governance policy makers, data architects, data engineers, business analysts, and senior leadership.
- Hands-on experience in data quality monitoring, data privacy, compliance, and data management principles.
