Job Description:

Coriell Institute for Medical Research is seeking an energetic and organized Data Manager who is well-versed in the R programming language to join our Biobanking team and successfully support internal operational data management and reporting as well as external reporting efforts.

The Data Manager should be an expert in R and will be using R daily to merge, process, clean, validate, and make available data and data reports for biobanking efforts at Coriell, including demographic data, clinical data, sample processing data, sample inventory data, and sample distribution data for tens of thousands of participants and millions of samples.

Experience:

The Data Manager will require 3+ years of experience with data management, data cleaning, and data processing in a scientific environment using R. In particular, the Data Manager will be required to have at least 3+ years of R programming experience and experience in maintaining documented and versioned source code.

Education:

A bachelor's degree in biology, bioinformatics, information technology, and/or a similar discipline is required for this role. A master's and/or PhD in the field is encouraged but not required.

Competencies:

The Data Manager will require excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to interface with an interdisciplinary team of scientists, project managers, and laboratory staff. The Data Manager will need to have strong collaboration skills, attention to detail, and be proactively organized in order to be successful in the role.

While this is a Data Manager position, this role will not oversee direct reports and will be expected to be an individual contributor.
