The selected candidate will work in a team environment and collaborate with scientists and project managers to support a contract at our center-city Philadelphia field office. This position will be providing cross platform expertise in the usage of custom and client software, MS Suite, and Google suite of products. This position involves substantial interaction with project and logistics managers, asbestos field personnel, and other project stakeholders. Key responsibilities include working with data management applications, data analysis, developing database solutions to drive reporting, and workflow automation. These tasks support ongoing environmental management planning projects for a range of local, state, and federal clients. RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborating in a team environment, performs analytical, technical, and/or developmental tasks as assigned, such as:
- Examines websites and data repositories for information relevant to each project.
- Develop data standards, policies, and design data structures and data manipulation workflows for later reporting.
- Helps the project team prepare electronic data collection tools for specific elements of Tetra Tech projects.
- Assists in the development of data collection tools, including surveys and other quantitative and qualitative measures.
- Design and develop solutions for data extraction and transformation.
- Ensure that assigned tasks and deliverables are completed in accordance with Tetra Tech's Quality Control program requirements.
- Develop or update documentation, such as data management plans, data related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Control Plans (QCPs), various metadata, and training materials.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to utilize the most suitable technologies, and stay informed about industry standards, tools, and technologies in data management.
- Develop tools to assist business users in gaining new insights and enhancing overall business performance.
- Attends both internal and external client meetings.
- Additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- BS degree from an accredited college or university in any of the multi-disciplined environmental sciences, engineering, or computer sciences is required.
- Advanced degree in an environmental or computer science, environmental engineering or environmental management field is preferred.
- Previous experience managing task orders under Federal, State, and Municipal government contracts, fostering and maintaining client relations, interacting with contract support staff (including subcontracting, procurement, billing, quality assurance, and administrative personnel), and coordinating technical/financial aspects of various contracts.
- Excellent client interaction skills and ability to identify and comply with multi-media environmental regulations and guidance at the highest levels.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proven record of building and leading teams that solve complex problems.
Desired Skills in the ideal candidate include but are not limited to:
- Must be proficient with an iPad and using electronic based forms to support inspections.
- Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and pass a motor vehicle records check.
- Must be familiar with asbestos bulk sampling and chain of custody procedures.
- Must be detail-oriented and organized.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Must be customer-service focused.
Education and Certifications: A Bachelor's degree is required. EPA AHERA Inspector training desired. Work Environment: The position's primary work environment is in client facilities in Center City Philadelphia. The successful Applicant must be able to pass a Federal Criminal History Background Check, A Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Record Check, and a PA Dept. of Public Welfare Child Abuse History check. Routine drug testing may be required for access to client locations.
